I took a break from my concentraiton this week to help Grace. I tallied up the votes and now I know who the most likelys are. I am going to find a project for me to do for the next week.'
1. What is 8-bit art and when did it originate?
8-bit art is a form of art on the computer, which resembles the style of early video games. It It originated from early nintendo culture in the late 1970's. 2. What are the 3 functions of 8-bit art? 8 bit art is easy to create, when you make that kind of art, you are in a group of people who do similar things, and it makes the creative process more like a game. 3. Do you think 8-bit art should be considered an art form? Why or why not? I think it should, because it is art, even if it is easy to create. It takes time and effort, and the results can be very nice, just like regular artwork. 4. List any 8-bit video games or art work you have played or seen in popular culture Mario Brother, Minecraft, and Pac-Man These are the slides I made for the TV in the cafeteria this week. They have animations but I just put in the pictures. Next week I would like to complete 2-3 more slides and post it to the weebly. Also, I would like to figure out how to get these images on the TV. Next Monday, I will start a new slide. On Tuesday, I will finish the slide I worked on and start a new one. On Wednsday I will do a new slide. On Thursday I will finish them up and on Friday I will post them.
I do not think that I will be able to continue to do the video yearbook. Instead, I have decided that for my final concentration project, I will put what is on the TV's in the cafeteria. I will do news and other interesting things that students can watch during lunch. I will design the page in photoshop, then probably put it into a google slide, or something like that. I will need lists of what is going on, and I will need to decide what students want to watch, whether it is their own work or something else. I will need Photoshop to create the slides, I will need either IMovie, keynote, or google slides to put it into a slideshow format. I will also need information about what is going on in the school. but other than that, I do not need any more materials.
I have been taking test shots to figure out exactly what I want to do. I figured out that if I had the people talk, it was hard to edit and I couldn't add background music. Also, my question used to be "describe Nichols in one word." That was a bad question because nothing positive came out of it. So, my final plan is to use index cards, and make the students thank one thing about Nichols. I am going to use index cards, and black markers. For the background song, I am thinking of using Bright by Echosmith. It is good for music because it isn not very overwhelming.
1. What does each stanza talk about in Maya Angelou's poem, 'Touched by an Angel'? (3 points)
The first stanza talks about what it is like to not be in love, and how once we finally fall in love, we are "liberated" from whatever we used to be living. The second stanza talks about the feeling of what it is like to be in love, and the ups and downs of being in love. The third stanza talks about how if we are brave, we will be able to see everything about love. She also talks about how we sacrifice ourselves to love, but then we are truly free. 2. What does the phrase, 'coiled in shells' mean? (2points) The phrase "coiled in shells" means that before love, we are lonely, like we are alone in a shell, all curled up and alone. 3.Why do you think Maya Angelo wrote this poem? (2 points) Maya Angelou wrote this poem to describe love, and the rollercoaster it takes you on. She wrote this to describe that even if love seems terrible, it is what we need to survive, and once we find it, we will never want t let it go. 4. Give your own interpretation of this poem. Use 4-5 complete sentences. 4-5 sentences. (4 points) This poem starts as the loneliness we have, but might not even feel before we find love. It says that we are lonely and sad, until we are saved. Then, it talks about how good it feels to be loved by someone, and even if you are hurt, you just want to be loved, for love takes away all the pain and fear in our hearts. The last stanza talks about how when we are in love, we give away part of ourselves, but it is worth it, because then we are truly free from all of the hardships of life. 5. Type your favorite sentence of the poem. "And suddenly we see that love costs all we are and will ever be. Yet it is only love that sets us free." This week was the first official week of my concentration project. I started by planning out what I am going to need and what I am going to do every day for the next month. I still haven't decided exactly what I am going to do for the yearbook, but I think I just want to get a few REALLY good clips. I have been watching the video yearbooks and getting an idea for what the clips usually look like, but I think that for this years yearbook, there could be more distinct sections rather then just a bunch of clips from recess. I really liked the idea from last years video yearbook where they took most of the people in eight grade and took a shot of them with a index card with an adjective that described them. I think that for my clips I want to focus on something like that instead of ringing the camera out to recess. I haven't decided exactly what I want to do, but I know that it will be something like that. My only worries are that I wont be able to get the people to take it seriously, and I won't get any good clips. But I'm hopeful that I will get clips that people will like to look at and remember Nichols by.
